What is “being born again”?

If I asked you what is the beginning point of Christianity, how would you answer?

I would say that the beginning point is being born again because Jesus says in John 3:3-7 KJV that we must be born again or we will not see the things of God. This is why so many Christians doubt and “wonder” if they are really saved. They do not have a revelation of how they were born again. They have a mental belief that they have been born again, but do not understand the truth of this amazing miracle that God performs through His grace.

I think that the reason they do not understand being born again, is the same reason why little children do not understand how they came into existence. Parents do not go into any detail on how they were conceived because these little ones are not mature enough to grasp the concept. The same is true for spiritual babes.

For those of you who would like to know how you were “conceived from above”, which is the Greek translation of the term “born again”, please read on……

Warning: Please note that this may challenge your religious thinking and you may even think that this is blasphemous, but in spite of this, I encourage you to read on.

For us to understand what being born again is, we need to look at the conception of Jesus in His mother Mary.

Luk 1:30-38 KJV  And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.  (31)  And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.  (32)  He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:  (33)  And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.  (34)  Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?  (35)  And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.  ….  (37)  For with God nothing shall be impossible.  (38)  And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

God placed His Seed, Christ in Mary, and she conceived. How God placed Christ in Mary 2000 years ago, is the same way that God places Christ in every believer today – this is what the Bible calls being born again. 1Pe 1:23 MKJV  having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the living Word of God, and abiding forever.

Being born again, is God placing His Seed into us through the Word of God.

The same awesome miracle of God placing Christ in Mary, happens to us by God Himself. The Holy Spirit is the “means” by which Father God places His incorruptible Seed 1 Peter 1:23, Christ in us Gal 3:16, when we believe on the lord Jesus Christ Acts 16:31.

Remember that Adam was made from earth Gen 2:7. This is important to note because of this next scripture:

Luk 8:11 MKJV  …: The seed is the Word of God.

When we hear the Word of God preached to us as sinners, and we believe the Word preached, we receive it into our hearts. This Seed who is Christ, is now been conceived in our hearts. This is why Mary said, “let it be according to your word..” Luke 1:38.  The Seed falls into “soil” and germinates!!! The Life of God in us. God’s Son Jesus Christ in us!!! What a miracle? Luke 8:5-15.

We all need to understand the born again experience because if we do, we will never doubt who we are, and because we know who we are, we will act accordingly. We will not to tossed to and fro and allow the enemy to doubt our “Parentage”. This is why we say, “Father God”. Because He is our REAL BONAFIDE FATHER!!!! His Seed is in me. I am His son because Christ in me, is my hope of Glory. I am secure because I know Who my Father is, and I have His DNA in me.

(1Jn 3:9 MKJV)  Everyone who has been born of God does not commit sin, because His seed remains in him, and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

(1Jn 4:7 MKJV)  Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves has been born of God, and knows God.

(1Jn 5:1 MKJV)  Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. And everyone who loves Him who begets also loves him who has been born of Him.

(1Jn 5:4 MKJV)  For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.

(1Jn 5:18 MKJV)  We know that everyone who has been born of God does not continue to sin, but the one born of God guards himself, and the evil one does not touch him.
