the “Mystery………”

Many people do not know that Paul preached a very special message, a message that he called “the mystery”. The first time the term “mystery” is used in regard to the gospel is in Romans 16:25. It is not mentioned before in any of the other books in the Bible.

Romans 16:25-26 KJV Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, (26) But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith:

Notice that Paul said that God had not revealed this “mystery” to previous generations, and that He was revealing it to people “NOW”. This means that David, Abraham, Ezekial and all of the other Old Testament prophets, did not know this revelation of the mystery!!! This is very important to us because if Paul was the first person God revealed this mystery to, then we need to understand that we must look in Paul’s epistles for “present truth”.

What was the “mystery” revealed by God to Paul?

Colossians 1:27 KJV To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

This mystery, according to this verse, is now being revealed to mankind, specifically to the gentiles, through Paul.

What is the mystery? The mystery is, “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. This is the message that Paul preached.
