Popcorn believers

15 10 2011

For those who are having a rough time, this post will encourage you because it will shed some light on your circumstances that you are in. Religion has taught that as God’s children, we are only supposed to have good things happen to us and that we are supposed to live overcoming lives. It has taught that if you are in a ‘difficult and horrible place’, you have sinned and that you are out of God’s will for your life. This could not be further from the truth! As believers we are going to go through very tough times and trials that our Father will orchestrate. Yes that is right, God will put us through these so that Christ will come forth in us. This is a spiritual law that applies to every one of God’s children!

Joh 12:24 KJV Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

Death is not pleasant whichever way you look at it and is usually very painful to all concerned. The truth of the matter is we believers are destined for much pain and suffering for Christ’s sake*.

Mat 3:11-12 KJV I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: ….

1Pe 1:7 KJV That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

What is God’s purpose behind these intense trials? He is bringing His forth His Son Jesus Christ in us. It is God bringing what is inside us, Christ, and revealing Him to the outside. It is very much like a popcorn kernel. In order for the raw kernel to be palatable, it needs to be exposed to intense heat! Only when the hard and tough kernel is exposed to the right temperature, will the kernel “pop”. The heat causes the kernel to be edible and very pleasant to eat. In its raw state, the popcorn kernel is not really edible! Only after being ‘popped’, does it become edible. It only pops when it is heated and without heat, it will remain inedible. This is very much like us believers. It sometimes takes extreme circumstances and trials, to get Christ in us to the outside! Only after we have been tested with God’s purging refining fire, does His life manifest to the world around us! It is just one of God’s laws!!!!

Psa 34:8 KJV O taste and see that the LORD is good: ….
