No one has more of God in them than someone else

28 09 2011

We have little children in the home, and at Christmas time, my wife and I make a point of spending the same amount of money on each of the children’s gifts. We make a point of it to give each child equal portions of things. I believe that most parents follow the same suit.

It really amazes me to hear people’s ideas on how God shares gifts among His children. Religion has created the false impression that God has favourite children that He blesses with very special gifts, and He has ‘other’ children that He gives out the ‘leftovers’ to. Religion has made ‘gifted’ children which are God’s specially anointed, and it has made ‘normal’ children which are God’s children, but they have nothing really to offer other people.

Because of this incorrect mind-set, Christians travel far and wide to be in contact with one of these ‘specialist’ children of God. They believe that if this person just prays for them, then a miracle will change their lives! This is completely untrue, and in fact it fosters a dependence on these ‘special’ people. People’s eyes are on man and not on God. The truth is God does not give according to differing measures.

Pro 20:10 MKJV Different kinds of weights, different kinds of measures, both are hateful to Jehovah.

God does not contradict Himself. He hates different kinds of measures. So in light of this scripture, why do we think that God gives more of Himself to specially chosen ones? God does not have any favourites because this would be in direct contravention of Who He is. He is completely Just and Fair.

Please read this scripture slowly and pause after you have read it so that you can take in the weight of it.

Eph 4:7 KJV But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ.

God has placed Christ as a gift in every believer. God has not placed “a measure of the gift of Christ”, He has placed “the measure of the gift of Christ”. The measure that God has given of Christ is EVERYTHING! This is what this following verse accentuates:

Eph 4:13 KJV Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

There is nothing missing in Christ. Christ is not limited in anyway at all. And if Christ lives in us, then we have His fullness and we lack nothing at all. We do not have to go anywhere or go to anyone to receive anything from God because the fullness of God is already in us through Christ. No Television preacher or any other child of God has anymore of God than you have inside you in Christ Jesus!

In closing: Here are some awesome verses speaking of Christ, saying that Christ is fullness.

Joh 1:16 KJV And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Notice this verse says that we have ALL received. It doesn’t say that a specially selected few have received!!!

Col 1:19 KJV For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

Eph 1:23 KJV Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Christianity is not about ‘special people’ administering God’s gifts. As God’s children, we are not inferior to any other of His children. We have exactly the same measure of God in each one of us. This is why Paul said this:

1Co 1:6-7 KJV Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: (7) So that ye come behind in no gift; ….

Col 2:9 KJV For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

We are complete through Him in us. Praise God….
