An important lesson from a budgie!

25 09 2011

This afternoon we were invited for lunch at old friends in a nearby town. While we were waiting for the food to be ready, i was sitting at the dinningroom table and next to me was a birdcage with a single blue budgie in it, which caught my attention. This little budgie was sitting on the upper perch with his face snuggled up to a little bird mirror which hung from the top of the birdcage. This little budgie had it’s face pressed up so close against the mirror, and it’s whole body quivered with pleasure while making cooing sounds, as it gazed back at it’s own image. This budgie was comforted and completely satisfied by the image that it saw in the mirror, even though in reality, it was all alone in its manmade prison. I was amazed by this illustration that the Lord Jesus was showing me, as i thought of the spiritual implications of this little bird’s actions. I began to ponder on the implications thereof. I was reminded of this scripture:

1Co 13:12 KJV  For now we see through a glass (mirror), darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Imagine if a little budgie could be so comforted by his own image, just imagine what us Christians could learn from what the Word says to us about looking into the Word of God, also called a glass or mirror in modern day language? For more please follow this link:
