Paul’s gospel

17 09 2011

Paul himself refers more than 3 different times to the gospel of Jesus Christ as “his” gospel:

Romans 2:16 MKJV in a day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Romans 16:25 MKJV Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel, …..

2 Timothy 2:8 MKJV Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead according to my gospel,

No other writer in the new testament including Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, made this claim besides him. Paul never said that he preached himself, or that it was his own ministry. Look what he says:

2 Corinthians 4:5 KJV For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; ……

He never exalted himself and on the contrary he didn’t boast about this….

Ephesians 3:8 KJV Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, …..

Look at what Paul says in Galatians concerning this gospel, his gospel:

Galatians 1:9-12 KJV As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (10) For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. (11) But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. (12) For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Please note that this gospel Paul was talking about, his gospel, was not taught to him by a human being. It was not founded on his Jewish past. It was revealed to him by God. This revelation was Jesus Christ Himself, in Paul. This gospel of Christ is the gospel to non-Jews! This gospel is the final gospel Rom 16:25
