How are we saved?

Most Christians know that Jesus died for our sins. They know that they have forgiveness for their sins because of His death on the cross. Generally, that is about as far as they get. They think that because they are forgiven, they have life. I want you to see that being forgiven is not receiving life. Jesus died for the sin for all mankind. Jesus died for sinners before they even knew that they needed forgiveness.

Rom 5:6-10 KJV For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. (7) For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (8) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Now please read this verse Romans 5:9 below, and notice what Paul says on how we are saved…… and please notice that it is not the forgiveness of sin that saves us…. Forgiveness of sin is a part of the process, but forgiveness doesn’t give us life!!!

(9) Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (10) For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Christ doesn’t just give us life – He is life!!!!!!!

1Jn 5:11-13 KJV And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. (12) He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (13) These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

In closing:

1Jn 5:20 KJV And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
